Hotel planned for listed mill site close to new Everton stadium
Oct 18, 2024
A new five-storey, 80-room hotel is set to rise at the heart of Liverpool’s ever-evolving Bramley-Moore Dock area, adjacent to Everton's much-anticipated stadium. This project, designed by Atelier 2 Architecture, will be a key addition to the vibrant waterfront scene, combining modern convenience with historical preservation. Central to the plan is the conversion of a Grade II-listed mill on Fulton Street, blending the heritage of the docklands with new, high-quality hospitality spaces.
The hotel will cater to the influx of visitors expected once the £760m, 52,888-seat Everton Stadium opens for the 2025-2026 season. Besides football matches, the stadium will host large-scale concerts and events, enhancing the demand for nearby accommodations. The development includes 32 rooms within the refurbished mill and 48 in a newly built structure, featuring a ground-floor bar, restaurant, and spa facilities such as treatment rooms and a pool.
While the hotel only offers seven parking spaces, a concern raised by locals, its location next to public transport links and within walking distance of key attractions positions it as a convenient option for visitors. This project is also part of the wider regeneration efforts in the Ten Streets area, a development hub that has already attracted multiple hospitality and commercial ventures.
With Liverpool City Council expected to approve the plans, the hotel will play a significant role in transforming the northern docks, further solidifying the area’s reputation as a must-visit destination.
